How to Use

How do I use OrganiCup?

You fold the soft and flexible silicone cup and insert it into the vagina. If it is in the right position, you will not be able to feel it. The cup can be taken out by carefully squeezing around it to remove the vacuum, where it can then be coaxed out softly and calm. The content can then be emptied out into the toilet and the cup can be rinsed and put back up. Between each menstruation the cup needs to be boiled, and it should always be kept in the enclosed cloth bag.

Some people can have some introductory difficulties with OrganiCup – but later will be very glad users of the product. If you have problems with the use of OrganiCup in the beginning, just remember that you will get used to it! And once you get used to OrganiCup, you will never go back to sanitary towels or tampons.

Can I cut the stem on the OrganiCup?

Yes! A lot of women prefer to cut the stem in half or removing it completely.
The stem should not be visible from outside of the vagina, as this can be a bit uncomfortable. If the stem is too long, you can trim it until you find a comfortable length.

Can OrganiCup be used if I use IUD?

At the end of every period you have to sterilize the OrganiCup. You can either do this by:

Boiling it for 5 minutes in a cup/bowl at 1000 Watts in your Microwave.

Boiling it for 5 minutes on the stove.

Placing the cup in a cup/bowl, pour over boiling water from a kettle and let it soak for 10 minutes.

After boiling, let the OrganiCup sit until completely dry, and put it in your cotton storage bag.

My OrganiCup doesn't unfold.

A menstrual cup is something that has a bigger learning curve than both pads & tampons, and usually it’ll take you 1-2 cycles before you learn how to use the OrganiCup optimally.

There are several different folding methods for the OrganiCup, and you will have to try some of them to find the one that works best for you. You can find a comparison of the different folding techniques here.

After insertion of your OrganiCup, it is a good idea to feel with your finger if it has opened up completely.

If it hasn’t unfolded properly, try the steps below:

Squeeze your abs a couple of times

Grab the OrganiCup with your fingers and twist it.

Pull the stem and press gently on the bottom of the OrganiCup.

Can I use OrganiCup as a virgin?

The hymen is a thin membrane that has room for the menstruation running freely through it, but it partly covers the entrance to the vagina. Therefore, you can easily use Organicup even though you still have an intact hymen. However, just as with tampons, we advise not using it if you want to be perfectly sure to keep your hymen intact.
